There are countless products promising ways to make money online. Some contain genuinely useful ideas. Some are mediocre. Some are wildly overhyped. It is genuinely hard to tell which is which from a sales page, and that is the problem this site exists to solve.
Every review comes back to one question:
Does this actually make money, and if so, how?
We are skeptical of hype, but we are not anti opportunity. Making money online is real. The ridiculous promises around it often are not. Our job is to help you tell the two apart, and to explain the real business model underneath a product so you can make an informed decision instead of a hopeful one.
How we research a product
We do not buy most of the products we review. Instead, we compile each review from the product’s own sales pages, multiple independent third-party sources, and signals from the affiliate network or checkout. Where sources conflict or the marketing hides something, we say so plainly rather than filling the gap with a guess.
To keep that honest, every review sorts what we know into three buckets, shown in its “How we researched this” box:
Verified ourselves
Things we confirmed directly, like the claims printed on the sales page, the checkout network, or whether a real product is delivered.
Reported by multiple sources
Details we found consistently across independent write-ups, such as a price or an upsell, but did not confirm at checkout ourselves.
Could not confirm
Things the marketing hides or that sources disagree on. We list them as open questions instead of pretending to know.
Admitting what we could not confirm is not a weakness, it is the point. This niche is full of confident write-ups that state prices and earnings as fact. We would rather tell you where the uncertainty is than pretend it does not exist.
How scoring works
Every score is an editorial judgement. We set it ourselves, based on the analysis in the review. Nothing on this site auto-generates a number, and a product never scores higher because it pays a bigger commission. The overall score runs from 0 to 10 and is our considered take on the product as a whole.
Underneath the overall score, we weigh four things:
- Transparency
- How honest the marketing is about what you get, what it really costs, and how much work is involved.
- Value
- What you actually receive for the price, compared with what the same knowledge or tools would cost elsewhere.
- Beginner-friendliness
- How realistic the product is for someone starting from scratch, not just someone who already has skills or traffic.
- Income potential
- Whether the underlying method can genuinely produce income, and how much work stands between you and it.
We also give every product a plain-language verdict, so you do not have to interpret a number on its own:
- Worth Looking AtA legitimate method and a fair deal. We would consider it ourselves.
- Works, But…The method is real and the product is usable, but there are real conditions. Worth it for the right person who goes in with clear expectations.
- MixedGenuine value in places, but it depends heavily on your situation. Some people will get their money's worth and some will not.
- Probably NotThe value is weak for what it costs, or the marketing oversells it badly. Most people can do better elsewhere.
- Skip ItWe would not spend money on this.
- Not Enough InformationWe could not gather enough reliable information to judge it fairly, so we do not pretend to.
When a score changes
Products change. Prices move, upsells get added or removed, and sometimes an offer is retired entirely. When something material changes, we update the review in place and adjust the score if the analysis calls for it, rather than publishing a second thin page about the same product. We also update a review when we correct a factual error. We do not change dates just to make a review look freshly written.
How we make money
Some links on the site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. That never determines a verdict. A product does not score higher because it pays more, and we publish critical verdicts on products we could earn from. You can read the full affiliate disclosure for the details.
Corrections and factual disputes
If we got a fact wrong, we want to fix it. If you are a reader who spotted an error, or a vendor who wants to dispute or correct a factual point about your product, get in touch through our contact page. Send the specific claim and, where possible, the evidence. We will review it and update the review if the facts warrant it. To be clear, we will correct facts, but our editorial verdict stays ours.
Who writes this
Reviews and guides are written by the Does This Make Money team. We are not going to invent a wall of credentials or claim to have personally gotten rich with every method we cover. What we bring is a consistent, skeptical process and a habit of explaining the actual business model instead of the marketing around it.
