Outline
Landing Page Outline
A block-by-block outline for a landing page that has one job, so you can build one without guessing what goes where.
A landing page has one job: get the visitor to take one action. This outline keeps you focused on that instead of building a cluttered homepage by accident.
The outline
1. Headline one clear promise, in the reader's words
2. Subhead who it is for and what they get
3. The action the form or button, visible without scrolling
4. Why it matters 2 to 4 short benefits (not features)
5. Proof real, specific, verifiable (skip if you have none)
6. Objection the one thing stopping them, answered
7. The action again, restated in plain words
8. Footer only what is required; no distractions
Block-by-block
- Headline: State the single most important promise. Specific beats clever.
- Subhead: One line on who it is for and the outcome.
- Primary action: One goal per page. One button or one form. Put it high.
- Benefits: What the reader gets, not what the product has. See features vs benefits.
- Proof: Only real proof. Fabricated testimonials destroy trust and sales.
- Objection: Name the biggest hesitation and answer it honestly.
- Repeat CTA: Say the action again in words the reader understands. See how to write a CTA.
Rules
- One page, one goal. If it has five exits, it has no focus.
- Write for a phone first. Most visitors are on one.
- Do not test button colors before you have tested the headline and the offer.
Why this works: what makes a good landing page and how landing pages turn traffic into leads.
