Lead Generation

Lead generation means finding potential customers for a business and getting paid for each qualified inquiry. It powers a huge amount of online money-making, especially in local services.

Lead generation is one of the least hyped and most durable online business models. The idea: a business, often a local service like a plumber, roofer, or lawyer, needs customers. You produce those customer inquiries, and they pay you for each one, or a flat fee for a steady flow.

The money is easy to understand. A new customer might be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars to a business, so paying you for a qualified lead is a bargain for them. Your job is to build the thing that produces those leads, usually a ranked website, an ad campaign, or both, and then to reliably deliver people who actually want the service.

The work is real: you have to generate traffic, filter it down to genuine prospects, and build a relationship with businesses who'll pay. But because a single client relationship can run for years, lead gen tends to be steadier than chasing one-off affiliate commissions. The guides below explain the mechanics; the reviews look at programs that teach the model.
